Pine Early American Custom Kitchen
Custom Kitchen Cabinets, in the Early American Style
by Delnero Custom Kitchens
Built for Robert & Mary ~ Glenfield, New York
Bob and Mary built a beautiful summer home in Glenfield, N.Y., and were looking for pine custom kitchen cabinets in the Early American style. We specialize in whatever style our clients request. Years ago, one could find pine Colonial cabinets just about anywhere. In later years most manufacturers of cabinetry only offer the styles that are currently popular, and can't offer much of a variation to what their assembly lines are set up for. Bob and Mary found us on-line, and were intrigued by the images we sent them via e-mail. Soon after a visit to our showroom to inspect our workmanship in person, they commissioned Delnero Furniture Company to build their kitchen cabinets, living room furniture, and bathroom fixtures.
In front of an L of cabinets sets a large custom built island cabinet/piece of furniture. On this side, the island incorporated pine counters supported by hand turned legs that creates a breakfast nook for three. At the far end is a 35 bottle wine rack.

On the opposite side of the island, a gas cooktop sits atop a granite counter top. 6 dove tailed drawers flank a pair of cupboard doors that hide 2 deep roll out drawers. There is a raised ledge that separates the eating and cooking areas. The island also has 5 electrical outlets.
Deep rollout drawers are handy for storage of large pots and pans.

This set of pine kitchen cabinets featured a large pantry and display cabinet, double oven and refrigerator cabinets, a bank of units including lower cabinets with sink unit, and upper cabinets.

Acorn's largest handle is just 3" high, which is fine for cabinet doors, but they wanted larger handles for the fridge, freezer, and dishwasher doors. We hand forged larger 5 1/2" matching handles in our blacksmith shop.

A shot of the lower cabinets, including the sink and dishwasher cabinets. The window behind the sink is in an alcove, and sets back an additional 18". The cabinets needed to be custom built to allow cleating to help support the extra deep counters.
A roll out in the sink cabinet is convenient for supplies used often.
