Tiger Maple & Flame Redwood Arts & Crafts Liquor Cabinet
Beautifully Hand Crafted Fine Furniture in Various Styles
The Delnero Family Furniture Co.
62" high x 31" wide x 17" deep.
This beautiful liquor cabinet was crafted in a modern style for clients in Manhattan, N.Y. Pushing the boundaries of contemporary design, we combined the elements of solid heavily figured tiger maple, a centuries old slab of reclaimed flaming Redwood, and leaded glass to create an elegant, one of a kind offering. Gennady and Anna asked us to build a table and benches out of a ancient slab of Curly Redwood they were considering purchasing.
After placing an order to build the table, we were asked to build a cabinet to house liquors, that would also be displayed in their dining room. A series of e-mails and phone conversations resulted in the conception of this delightful piece. It is truly rewarding turning planks of raw lumber into beautiful things, but sweeter yet, to configure them as such to capture the imagination of our clients.
Opening the tiger maple and flame redwood doors reveals a series of spaces to hold liquor bottles and supplies. There was a internal drawer, wine glass holder, and adjustable shelves. European hinges allow a completely clean look on the outside of the piece.
Close-up of the solid brass hanging wine glass hardware. This hardware comes in a variety of finishes and sizes. We also build solid wooden holder upon request.
The first step in the process of building the liquor cabinet was to glue the sides. Because the sides were to hold leaded glass panels, they were actually built as door frames. Often, the hardest parts to build are the first, as many of the following parts need to fit in, or line up with those early pieces.
