Cherry & Tiger Maple Mission Style Cupboard
Old World Workmanship, Built in the United States of America
Delnero Furniture Company, Fort Plain, New York
This handsome Mission styled cupboard was built by hand, of carefully selected aged boards of cherry wood and heavily figured tiger maple. The simple straight
lines in the piece's design, and uniformity of color and grain patterns in the cherry wood provide the perfect backdrop for some spectacular solid tiger maple door panels.
This Mission cupboard of doors stood 62" from the floor, was 40" wide, and 15 1/2" deep.
Heirloom grade tiger maple boards were sawn in half and carefully arranged to optimize the "strike" in the tiger graining. It is estimated that roughly 1 in 1000 sugar maple trees produce similar figuring and grain clarity of this quality. A shot of the inside of the cabinet. You'll notice that we use the same specie of wood as the case for our interiors, and the insides (behind doors & inside drawers) are sanded and finished with the same attention to detail as the outside of the piece.
